Marketing Tips – The Fantastic Four!

by | Aug 12, 2016 | Blog

I am regularly asked by clients for marketing tips. Here are four of the best to get you thinking about marketing smarter, growing your market share and increasing your profits.

1. Remember that everything in business is marketing. Every aspect of your business tells potential customers something about your company. I’m not just talking about a professional looking website and stationery either. This goes down to the way you and your team answer the phone, the attitude of your receptionist and even the way you dress. Now I’m not saying that you need to wear a suit and tie for every meeting with a client but at least be smart. You owe them that much respect and they expect it from you.

2. You won’t get professional results from amateur marketing. If you are serious about growing a profitable business then you need to get professionals in to help you. You need a website designed to sell your products or services, not one full of DIY templates. You need professionally written marketing copy for your adverts, newsletters and webpages, not something you cobbled together in your lunchbreak. You need serious, creative marketing campaigns, not a handful of leaflets stuffed through some random letterboxes.

3. There are no short-cuts to business success. You can find plenty of online advice offering quick ways to make your business a success or indeed to get rich, lose weight and find a partner. Seriously, you know they don’t work so don’t try them. Too often a short-cut turns out to be an expensive detour.

4. No matter how good the marketing is, you still need a great product or service. You need to be offering your potential customer something that gives them great value. Crack that and great marketing will help it sell and keep on selling.
